Today at his weekly press conference, Former President Bharat Jagdeo issued a warning to both the Granger administration and the oil companies doing business in Guyana. Jagdeo said that he heard that the government is seeking to make a huge drawdown against further income from the oil windfall
The opposition leader says does not have a problem with the oil companies giving Guyana any money, however, those monies will be treated by the PPP as a gift.
Asked by Kaieteur News as to the legal grounds for the Guyana government denying a possible repayment to a loan, Jagdeo responded
The PPP General Secretary said that the oil companies are not lending agencies and as such, the monies will be deemed as bonuses and will not be repaid, under a PPP government
