BAGOTSTOWN ACCIDENT KILLS TWO, ONE CRITICAL

A seemingly accident-prone section of the Bagotstown Public Road was again the scene of a fatal accident on Sunday. Esther Sobers tells us more in this report…

On Sunday night, an accident on the Bagotstown Public Road, East Bank Demerara killed two and severely injured another. According to a statement from the Police, at around 9:15 pm 29-year-old Steven Roberts of Republic Park, EBD was driving along the eastern side of Bagotstown public road when he collided with the concrete median. The impact sent the car into the concrete wall of an adjacent residence and a utility pole, thus cutting power to the area. The impact killed two passengers 19-year-old Courtney Marcus of lot 11 Peter’s Hall, EBD and 20-year-old Ronaldo Simmons of lot 15 Azore Street, Peter’s Hall. While the driver is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital. He is in serious condition. However, an eyewitness to last night’s accident noted that this is not the first time a fatal accident has occurred on that particular stretch of road.

It’s actually the ninth accident in the spot. With the most prior crash having occurred on January 8, 2019.
