Today, 50-year-old Robin Marks of Norton Street, Georgetown appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates Court charged with two counts of allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Marks was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charges. The charge alleged that in February, he sexually assaulted the girl on two occasions. He is accused of touching her chest and attempting to kiss her on the lips. He reportedly attempted to bribe here for her silence. She then complained to her grandmother who reported the matter to the Police. Bail was granted in the sum of $200,000 on the two charges. Marks will be back in Court on Friday.
23 year old Nicholas Smith of Alexander Village was found guilty on two armed robbery charges. In the first charge, the court heard that on February 11, 2018, on the Seawall Road, Smith robbed Dexter David of a gold chain, a cell phone and $1,000 in cash. The second charge stated that on the same day, the accused also robbed Kevin Ramlall of a gold chain, mobile phone and his wallet. After Smith was arrested, he was positively identified by his victims. Magistrate McGusty sentenced the accused to five years on each count of robbery under arms, which are to be served consecutively.
