Dr. Turhane Doerga a former AFC supporter says that the PPP and the Guyana Rice Producers Association, are working in tandem to create a political situation that they hope to benefit from.

He says that there are many problems within the rice industry, just recently, Panama canceled a major rice deal with Guyana that amounts to thousands of tons of rice and millions of dollars. Doerga say that the PPP leaders will not speak out because they want the industry to fail, for their political benefit

A very passionate Doerga says that this is not the time for political gamesmanship. He said the Rice Producers Association should demand an investigation into what’s going on

Doerga says that if the farmers don’t speak up, it is they who will suffer

Looking at the political reality, Doerga said that if the rice situation returns to what it was around 1988 when he helped turn it around, the Granger administration will be in political trouble, come 2020
