Finance Minister, BoG Governor to attend IMF, World Bank Meetings

Minister of Finance Winston Jordan and Governor of the Bank of Guyana, Gobind Ganga will be representing Guyana at this year’s Spring Meetings of Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) to be held in Washington, D.C., United States of America (USA) from April 16-22, 2018.

According to Minister of State Joseph Harmon, these events will provide Guyana with opportunities to interact with leading personalities and organisations to discuss issues important to economic development and finance.

The meetings will bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organisations, and academics, to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
