Today, the Ministry of Education celebrated one of their own. Surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers, Mrs. Pearl Gravesande celebrated her 100th birthday at the Archer’s Home. Minister of Education, Dr. Nicolette Henry joined those present to share in the joyous occasion. Gravesande is a retired headteacher who had dedicated 56 years of service to the education sector. Over her career, Mrs. Gravesande taught at the Unity/Lancaster Government School, Plaisance Government School, and the St, Paul’s Primary School in Plaisance. Minister Henry said that she was honored to be in Mrs. Gravesande’s presence to express her gratitude on behalf of herself, the Ministry of Education and the Government of Guyana for the contributions and sacrifices the former educator would have made during her time of service to the sector.
