Guyana records 9th COVID-19 death, 82 positive cases

Today, Guyana has recorded its 9th death from the novel coronavirus.

He died in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital. As of Thursday, April 29, 2020, the number of COVID-19 cases in Guyana has increased by four, it now stands at 82. Five hundred and seventy-nine persons have been tested, thus far. There are two persons in the COVID-19 ICU, 18 in institutional quarantine and 51 in isolation.

Central Georgetown continues to be the epicenter with the positive cases identified coming from the following communities; in the north of Georgetown: Kitty, Sophia, Turkeyen, Liliendaal, Cummings Lodge, Alberttown and Cummingsburg.

In the south of Georgetown: Bourda, Lamaha Park, South Ruimveldt Gardens and Thirst Park; Campbellville, East Ruimveldt, Guyhoc Park, Lodge, Albouystown and Laing Avenue.
