COVID-19 has claimed the life of another of Guyanese in New Jersey. 44-year-old Marvin Pearce, originally of Georgetown, died on Monday morning at a hospital in New Jersey. Pearce, a self-described political activist recently visited Guyana during the APNU+AFC’s elections campaign. While his family could not be reached for comment, his Facebook page was flooded with messages of condolences from many within the party, including former Mayor of Linden Carwyn Holland. As of the most recent reports, at least 34 Guyanese have died from COVID-19 in the US.
