Senior cabinet member and Minister of Agriculture, Noel Holder, is confident that his ministry is taking the right steps in an effort to save the ailing sugar industry.
Speaking today at the launch of the Agriculture month in October, the minister said that the Guyana sugar corporation now has a very clear vision
The minister said that the Special Project Unit (SPU) is the arm responsible for any external financial matters.
Holder said the SPU has been having some setbacks in raising much-needed finance for the company. The minister said that he is pleased with the newly selected GUYSUCO Board and that they will work at moving things forward. Holder said that the Board members will soon be gazetted and their work of turning around GUYSUCO will begin.
