Motorists in Montego Bay are now learning to respect the box, following the installation of grid lines at a number of popular intersections across the city. The lines, which are also referred to as ‘no man’s land’, mark the area where drivers should not stop during a red light. The lines were installed by St James Municipal Corporation, working with the Island Traffic Authority, as part of efforts to regulate and control traffic movement. The improper usage of these lines by motorists could lead to them being ticketed by the police.
