Residents of Lethem Region Nine will now benefit from a newly constructed Fire Station as the Ministry Of Public Security continues to ensure Public Safety throughout Guyana. The project which commenced on April 7th 2017 is currently in its final stage of completion. The size of the building is approximately 60 by 70 feet and will be housing fire trucks along with emergency ambulance.
Works are also ongoing for Fire Stations at Mahdia Region Eight and Mabaruma Region One. Eighty percent work for the first phase of Mabaruma Fire Station is currently completed, whiles ninety-five percent of the final phase for the Mahdia fire station has also being completed.
Each Fire Station will greatly benefit residents of the hinterland communities as the Guyana Fire Service remains committed to the protection of life and property from destruction by fire, as well as attending to other disaster related emergencies and rendering humanitarian services in collaboration with other agencies.
