POLICE CATCH MASTERMIND IN BERBICE BUSINESSMAN MURDER

On Wednesday morning, Daniel McLennon called ‘Dutty’ of 153 Third Street, Rose Hall Town was apprehended in Laing Avenue, Georgetown. He was arrested after being on the run for around a month. McLennon is suspected to be the mastermind of the robbery and murder of popular Berbice businessman Lomenzo Johnny. McLennon is believed to have received over $10M from the heist. During the robbery, the men reportedly bound him and beat him severely before stealing his keys. The perpetrators then went to his home where they stole a safe containing a large amount of cash. So far, four men have been arrested and charged for the murder of Johnny. The men, identified as Navendra Narine, Gopaul Ramgobin, Satram Khuslay, and Bilal Mc Lennon, were jointly charged when they appeared before the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court on March 11. The matter was transferred to the Albion Magistrates Court and will be heard again on April 17.
