Yesterday, it was reported that the management of Splashmin’s Resort had decided to suspend lifeguard service. After calling on a suspension of lifeguard services, Lennox John the proprietor of Splashmin’s Resort is changing his tune in a statement issued officially by the company’s social media page. The release states;
“The Management and staff of Splashmins Resort wish to advise the General public that, as usual, there will be Lifeguards on duty to safeguard our patrons when visiting the Resort. Reports suggesting a suspension of Lifeguards isn’t accurate, Mr. John misspoke when he made comments on the issue yesterday. We regret any misinterpretation.”
The management of the resort had come under much scrutiny after 18-year-old Ronaldo Gomes died by drowning. A post-mortem examination states that a boat propeller may have come into contact with the teen while he was in the water rendering him unconscious. This left many to allege that no lifeguards were present the day in question. Family members of Gomes have signaled their intentions to sue the resort for negligence.
