The Child Protection Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is currently investigating reports of children ingesting marijuana that were included in food items consumed. According to a statement from the TTPS, five children from the Chaguanas policing district consumed brownies that a student brought to school as part of Valentine’s Day celebration; one child from Couva Policing District bought the item from a vendor outside the school. The students were taken to the hospital where they were attended to and discharged. In the Northern Division, one week ago, two students consumed marijuana in a COOL DOWN. One child purchased the item from a man she met on Instagram and subsequently made the purchase of two suck-a-bags. She then shared the item with a friend at school they were taken to seek medical attention and later discharged.
