In response to the COVID-19 pandemic Guyanese comedian Kelvin Fortune, also known as SelfieBoss is continuing his campaign to assist vulnerable communities in Guyana. Through his organization, Youth For A Better Living, he and over 100 volunteers have been working assiduously to deliver homemade hand sanitizers, facemasks, and other supplies to the hundreds of households that need it the most. After seeing our report on the plight of Albouystown resident Esther Knight, Fortune felt compelled to help her.
On Saturday, Fortune and his team donated food hampers to Knight and another family who lost their home to a fire on Bent Street. He noted that the donation may be outside of the scope of YBL’s project, but the team still saw it necessary to help others in any way that they can.
If you would like to make a contribution towards their project you can call or WhatsApp Fortune on telephone number 6614580.
